An Orientation-Independent Multi-Input Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Node

چکیده
Deploying energy harvesting-based wireless sensor nodes (WSNs) in challenging environments often means we do not have precise control over the placement and orientation of nodes. This article introduces a novel smart WSN whose operation does depend on its orientation. The proposed unit is cube-shaped device, each side which complete module, sharing common storage communication bus with other faces. In this article, an energy-efficient algorithm designed based concepts “strongest face” radio face.” facilitates information among faces cube goal harvesting maximum possible from all sides, aggregating shared bus, then, using strongest face to transmit sensed signal base station. concept verified 50-cm 3 laboratory prototype built off-the-shelf components. experimental results show that device successfully transmits data even worst case where only one face, may be transmitting energy.

Multi-Source Energy Harvesting for Wireless Sensor Nodes
The past few years have seen an increasing interest in the development of wireless sensor networks. But the unsatisfactory or limited available energy source is one of the major bottlenecks which are limiting the wireless sensor technology from mass deployment. Ambient energy harvesting is the most promising solution towards autonomous sensor nodes by providing low cost, permanent, and maintena...
متن کاملInformation Capacity of an Energy Harvesting Sensor Node
Energy harvesting sensor nodes are gaining popularity due to their ability to improve the network life time and are becoming a preferred choice supporting “green communication”. In this paper we focus on communicating reliably over an AWGN channel using such an energy harvesting sensor node. An important part of this work involves appropriate modeling of the energy harvesting, as done via vario...

All these devices need a compact, low-cost and lightweight energy source, which allows the desired portability and energy autonomy. Today, batteries represent the dominant energy source for the devices listed in Table I and alike. In spite of the fact that energy density of batteries has increased by a factor of 3 over the past 15 years, their presence in many cases has a large impact on, or ev...
متن کاملGeographic and Clustering Routing for Energy Saving in Wireless Sensor Network with Pair of Node Groups
Recently, wireless sensor network (WSN) is the popular scope of research. It uses too many applications such as military and non-military. WSN is a base of the Internet of Things (IoT), pervasive computing. It consists of many nodes which are deployed in a specific filed for sense and forward data to the destination node. Routing in WSN is a very important issue because of the limitation of the...
متن کاملEnergy Harvesting in Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) enable many vital applications ranging from environmental monitoring to human health control. Main research efforts in the WSNs focused on minimizing energy consumption because wireless sensor nodes are mostly powered by batteries which are usually hard to replace. Recent research on long-lasting WSNs is proposing energy harvesters combined with rechargeable batt...
